Master Planning

Mississippi Secretary of State

Broaddus Planning performed a study that explores the preliminary viability of a hotel and casino development on a number of state-owned and adjacent coastal parcels in Biloxi, Mississippi. In service of this task, a benchmarking comparison was conducted which examined the characteristics of 11 casinos located on the Mississippi Gulf Coast. This comparison produced a useful data set to inform development assumptions used in test fitting developments.

Additionally, to aid this benchmarking comparison, this study assessed recent market trends in gaming and hotel developments along the coast at a high level. Historical trends show that while inventory has been stagnant or slightly declining, demand for casino-hotels (as demonstrated by occupancy and revenue per available room) has been growing, indicating that Biloxi market may be ready for more casino-hotel developments.
