MASTER PLANNING

Texas State Technical College - Harlingen Campus Master Plan

The Texas State Technical College System (TSTC) selected Broaddus Planning to prepare a Campus Master Plan for its Harlingen campus. The master plan addresses issues of potential growth and improvement of the campus for the next 10 years, and incorporates educational goals and targets of the College, along with the evaluations of the site’s characteristics.

Harlingen is one of the main campuses of TSTC’s five institutions, offering unique programs ranging from Biomedical Equipment to Aircraft Pilot Training. Located in the Lower Rio Grande Valley, the TSTC campus is expected to experience significant growth due to the rise in their key student demographic.

The goal of the master plan is to give clear direction for physical change and improvement of the campus, providing the most effective use of its land and facilities. The plan also functions to raise awareness of the campus and the overall image of the college. The final implementation plan includes priority projects to inform the System’s Capital Improvement Plan, including design guidelines, scope definition and related cost and budget implications. The master plan was prepared in collaboration with Broaddus Planning lead consultant team member, Kell Muñoz Architects.
