Texas State University - San Marcos North Campus Housing Program

In order to meet its rising demand for student housing, Texas State University-San Marcos engaged Broaddus Planning to prepare the facility program for the new North Campus Housing Complex.  In planning for the 600-bed residence hall, Broaddus Planning worked closely with the campus residence life staff and the campus facilities staff to define a project that meets the unique needs of the users and the site.

This project is one of several campus buildings to be constructed under an aggressive campus implementation strategy reflected in the Campus Master Plan adopted by the University and prepared by Broaddus Planning. Adherence to the master plan provided unique opportunities for this project to affect the surrounding buildings and area. Critical among these were the pedestrian/vehicular circulation patterns, as this project provides the opportunity to connect circulation patterns between the campus edge and core.
