FACILITY FUNCTIONAL & PHYSICAL EVALUATIONS

The Harris Center for Mental Health and IDD

Broaddus Planning was hired to conduct evaluations of five facilities to determine the future state of these assets. PGA Architects served as a sub-consultant to conduct the condition assessment of three of these facilities. Broaddus Planning evaluated all of the facilities for the functional viability the existing structures. Broaddus work with a steering committee to determine the best course of action for each facility. Recommendations for three clinical facilities was the replacement of these facilities based on the analysis. The other two facilities housed specialty programs to support Day Hab, an Intellectual or Developmental Disability (IDD) program, and Early Childhood Intervention. Early Childhood intervention is primarily a community-based program with the majority of staff working from home. The administrative staff was moved to the Harris Center Administration Building, freeing an owned facility for renovation and use by Day Hab.
