The University of Texas at El Paso College of Health Science and the School of Nursing Program

The University of Texas at El Paso proposed to construct a new Nursing Education Facility on its main campus in El Paso, Texas. The existing programs for the College of Health Science (CoHP) and the School of Nursing (SoN) were in a renovated dormitory and adjacent office building, two miles from main campus. This project was envisioned to combine the functions of both user groups and reconnect them to the main campus infrastructure. Broaddus & Associates worked with the deans and faculties of both colleges to define state-of-the-art teaching and research facilities that will serve the students and faculty for many years to come. The programming study defined a project of approximately 132,000 GSF that included simulation laboratory areas, Deans’ suites with shared support and student areas, faculty offices with shared support for both user groups, research areas for grants and laboratories, general use classrooms, and student support areas.
